It’s been an amazing week in the Isle of Man! @ttracesofficial @ianpert @im_calum13_

Well what a day yesterday was, I never thought that Hedzup Racing team would be helping Calum Pert to achieve his first top 20 finish in the Manx Grand Prix in the first race he has finished! 17th!!! What a result, big thanks to the team for their efforts, Finlay Milne going above and beyond to solve the problems in the morning, and Bruce Cobburn for the bike, but the biggest well done goes to our rider for putting in so much effort into learning and riding the greatest track in the world and doing it so well!

What a few days it’s been—exhausting, chaotic, and absolutely class. The Hedzup Racing team is on it. 💥

The lorry awning has been a godsend—pizza nights under there were a rare breather in a non-stop week. Massive love to Oil Slick Solutions for keeping this whole operation rolling. 💪

To everyone who donated, bid in the auction, gave parts, or just got stuck in—you’re the reason we’re here. Thank you. 🙏

Waiting on the rest of the Hedzup crew to land just in time for Calum Pert’s first race. And let’s talk about Calum for a sec…

Last year? He only managed 4 laps in his newcomer season (thanks, weather). Qualified, then broke down a mile in. But he got started. This year? He launched.

➡️ First lap on the ER650 (cheers Bruce Cobburn): 101mph from a standing start.
➡️ Sunday: 4 laps + a blistering 107mph.
➡️ Tonight? A 110+mph lap and 19th fastest qualifier—jumping 22 places on the grid for tomorrow!

He’s also racing Alasdair Cowan’s beautiful NC30, backed by David Dick, who’s been a huge part of Calum’s journey. Without him, none of this would be happening.

The NC30 only made it to the track Thursday night after some serious drama—Josh and I were rallying the coast road to make it in time. Thanks to Finlay Milne, Calum hopped straight from the 650 to the 400 and pulled a 100mph lap straight off the bat. 😮‍💨

Now he’s sitting at just under 106mph on the 400—a huge credit to Alasdair’s machine. Absolute rocket.

The lads are still grafting tonight—tyres, oil, the works—getting the 650 dialled in for tomorrow’s 10:15 race. 🔧🏁

So what's happened at Hedzup Racing over the last few days, both the David Dick NC30s are pretty much ready for the Bob Mac race meet next weekend, as is the Hedzup CBR400, as long as I get my licence ( I forgot) then Hedzup will have 3 riders out at it, a bit of plumbing done at the centre where we rerouted the toilet vent to outside. A visit to tentsmuir with a great school group, and an interesting visit to a sheep shearing class, bloomin eck that looks like hard work! And a bit of golf as well, certainly varied the things we get up to! A big thanks to all the ladies and gents of the Hedzup groups for their efforts! Great youths all of them!

Our last Friday night of 2022 and the lads are hard at work in the workshop rebuilding the KTM.

It’s another East Fortune weekend for the Hedzup crew.

It was great to be "allowed" back to @TaysideMRT today. The youths were given a tour of the base and a presentation about the team and a go on the climbing wall. It was great to see it in safe hands again and thriving! #YouthDevelopment

It has been a busy few months at Hedzup and the past week has really shown the diversity of the things we do and groups we cater for.

We had Golf ( yes... we know....), working at the Centre, our latest CSCS groups on Tuesday, Wednesday saw 2 different groups working on the bikes, so more progress on the ZZR600 that will be for sale soon. Check out our website for more… #youthdevelopment

Born on the side of a mountain

Hedzup didn’t begin in a boardroom — it began on the side of a mountain.

What started as a simple idea to give young people access to the outdoors and new perspectives has grown into a centre of excellence for youth development.

The concept was formed during a mountain rescue call-out by Ian Pert (former Mountain Rescue) and Ewan Stewart (former Police Scotland), while waiting for a helicopter evacuation.

That moment sparked what Hedzup is today: a trusted organisation delivering youth support, outdoor experiences, and development opportunities — particularly for those who need them most — helping build stronger confidence, wider horizons, and brighter futures.
